Class: Finishing Techniques

FINISHING TECHNIQUES

This is a set of classes to cover all finishing techniques to make your knitting more polished, fit better and complete!

STUDENTS TO BRING:

2 squares of 20x20 in stocking stitch

darning needle

SESSION 1

DATE: SUNDAY, 4 MARCH

TIME: 9:30-12:30

In session one we will cover:

  • Blocking: What is it? Why do we do it? How do we do it?
  • How and when to use mattress stitch
  • How to weave in ends

 

SESSION 2

DATE: SUNDAY, 4 MARCH

TIME: 13:00-16:00

In session two we will cover:

  • How to pick up stitches- how to do this on the shoulder of a jumper to make it smooth
  • Multiple cast-off techniques - when and why to use them
  • How to do one-row button holes
